Our experienced Imaging Cardiologists have worked with Gunalingam Cardiology for many years and play a crucial role in diagnosing heart conditions, working closely with Dr Brendan Gunalingam.

Combining their expertise in advanced cardiac imaging techniques with Dr Gunalingam’s knowledge of complex coronary interventional treatments, our team strives to deliver accurate diagnoses and optimal treatment plans for our patients.

Dr Sarat Cheruvu

Imaging Cardiologist

Dr Sarat Cheruvu is an Australian-born and trained Cardiologist with special interests in advanced cardiac imaging, hereditary cardiomyopathies, peri-operative cardiac risk, and the assessment of lipid management disorders.    

He graduated from the University of NSW with both academic and research honours, completing his thesis in the physiology of the renin-angiotensin system. 

He completed his physician’s training at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney; following which he completed his advanced training in Cardiology in the Central Coast/Royal North Shore Network.

He subsequently completed a post graduate fellowship at the prestigious Advanced Cardiac Imaging Centre in St Vincent’s Hospital focusing on cardiac CT, cardiac MRI and transesophageal echocardiography. 

As a general cardiologist, Dr Cheruvu sees patients with a wide range of cardiac diseases including ischaemic heart disease, arrythmias and heart failure with specific expertise in the application of advanced cardiac imaging for the assessment of cardiovascular disease. 

Dr Thanneer Renganathan

Imaging Cardiologist

Dr Thanneer Renganathan specialises in and has extensive expertise in general adult cardiology, diagnostic and imaging cardiology. These include standard and contrast stress exercise echocardiograms, Dobutamine stress echocardiograms, and transoesophageal echocardiograms.

Dr Renganathan completed an echocardiography imaging fellowship at St Vincent’s hospital, in Sydney, Australia.

Having completed his secondary schooling in Singapore, Dr Renganathan graduated with MBBS from University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. This was followed by Basic Physician Training and then Advanced Cardiology training in NSW. He has travelled to Johns Hopkins Hospital in USA to be trained in CT coronary angiograms.

Dr Renganathan is available weekly on Mondays at Gunalingam Cardiology.
